“Why do you read books?” is such a clichéd question that people have stopped even trying to explain or understand what books can do to a person. But there are many answers as to why people who read are so devoted to reading and why they cherish books.
The literal meaning of reading in any dictionary explains reading as an extremely complex, cognitive process that enables a person to decode symbols that are written on paper. Figuratively, reading is more than just ‘comprehending.’ Some people believe that reading is an eloquent language, for some people reading is them being able to give meanings to words that are strung together without breaking any rules, some people believe reading is the only sensible thing in the whole wide world.
However deep, the ‘meaning’ of reading might be, one reason as to why people enjoy reading is that it takes a person places.
