This year, healthcare providers have been put in the spotlight once again for the essential role they play in our lives. From fireworks displays to billboard advertisments, companies, individuals, and communities have been honoring them around the work and expressing our gratitude for all they do to help.
One entrepreneur is giving back by creating a product built to help healthcare workers stay warm this winter. Silver Lining Scrubs, founded by a healthcare professional herself, has created an innovative line of comfortable and fashionable scrubs. Dr. Tiffany Sudre is the dentist behind Silver Lining Scrubs. In her line of work, she wears scrubs daily. When she found herself adding layers of clothes underneath her uniform to stay warm, she decided to do something about it. However, when she tried to purchase a warmer uniform option, she couldn’t find one. So, she reached out to designers and manufacturers to create the perfect lined scrubs for herself and her healthcare team.
After a year of research and design, Silver Lining Scrubs chose the right fabric to make a completely lined garment that wouldn’t look bulky and would keep professionals warm without overheating during a busy day. Available online, the scrubs line are stain and wrinkle-resistant and come in several fashionable cuts. Dr. Sudre has only been in the scrubs business for a year, but her company’s success has her planning and designing new production options.
“We are expanding our sizing to include petite and tall length pants in the fall,” she says. “We are also launching a Mandarin-collar lined top and jogger style-lined pants and adding bamboo fabric options that are incredibly soft.”
In the future, Silver Lining Scrubs plans an expansion into men’s sizes and adding new color options. The company also offers scrub caps, face masks, compression socks, stethoscopes, and stethoscope cases.
When asked about her decision to establish this company and create the perfect pair of scrubs, Dr. Tiffany Sudre said she was hoping to solve the age-old problem about healthcare workers being cold at work.
“Healthcare workers work hard day in and out to take care of us,” she said. “What people don’t know is that scrubs, while they may look comfortable, are made out of thin fabric that require layering underneath to work in cold offices and hospitals or commute during the winter months.”
Finding innovative solutions and taking care of others is what healthcare providers do best. Dr. Tiffany Sudre has taken that a step farther – by offering fashionable uniform options that keep her colleagues warm and comfortable all day. This year, Silver Lining Scrubs is helping keep others warm as well, with a donation to Operation Warm, which provides warm coats to local kids.
