The pathway to entrepreneurship is one often not taken, as it is an unclear road that depends on you to be the one leading the path and journey. Jared Sanborn was born to be an entrepreneur, and has been going through the path of starting multiple businesses, learning and failing along the way, and helping companies he’s worked with generate over 7 figures in a short span of time.
“Failure is the mother of learning and learning is the father of success.” says Sanborn. Implementing accepting challenges and facing adversity into his life from a young age, Sanborn had been developing the skills to become an entrepreneur from day one. Throughout his school career he would sell clothing, handbags, CD’s and DVDs to his classmates, finding ways to generate income based on demand at the time. Most modern school systems frown upon individual entrepreneurs, and Sanborn was subject to detentions and suspensions, he would label those as “business expenses”. Despite this, Sanborn went on to graduate alongside the honors society, he then went on to pursue higher knowledge in the form of fully engrossing himself in over 400+ books in the span of four years.
Reading these books on entrepreneurship, psychology, sales, leadership, business, marketing, management, real estate, investing, and the entertainment business were key aspects of Sanborns higher education, as he would quickly start to pick up on the patterns and lessons presented across these books. Coincidentally, finding a specific interest in the music industry, Sanborn would go on to write thousands of songs in this time span, while entering one of his first business endeavours of opening a recording studio, and a live music event management company.
Shortly after, disaster would strike, and life would present its first major obstacle for Sanborn. After losing over $40,000 in an event Sanborn managed, funded, and organized, his recording studio was flooded, destroying all of the equipment in the process. This left Sanborn heartbroken, and had his back pushed against the wall. He was forced to think quickly on his feet and develop a new business and stream of income, something he knew to do quite well at this point in his life.
Sanborn would go on to use his skills in marketing and business development towards launching a digital marketing and media platform, this would soon after become known as Eyefuel PR, and is one of Sanborns primary business endeavors today. “Everyone has challenges in their life! The difference is that those who unintentionally bring the challenges into their life aren’t up for the challenge and thus are stressed out about how to overcome them. Those who intentionally bring the challenges into their life are up for the challenge and are instead overjoyed and prepared to overcome them.” says Sanborn.
Through various meetings with high profile, 10 figure earning clients, Sanborn has this lesson to share: “Listen 2 times as much as you speak to those 2 times up over your peak. Learn 2 times as much as you teach from those 2 times up out of your reach”. His lightbulb moment was when these high profile achievers began asking him for input during marketing meetings, Sanborn realized that his words carried weight, and wants any aspiring entrepreneur to think in the same way. Through helping his peers and co-workers realize their full potential, Sanborn aims to spread kindness and growth through himself and his companies, leaving behind a world for his wife and daughter to succeed in. “If you work hard on your job, you can make a living! If you work hard on yourself, you can make a killing!” says Sanborn.
