The recent pandemic has taken a toll on everyone in different ways. It’s left some feeling isolated or trapped, and others broke, but almost all are simply unsure of what the future holds. This is one of the main reasons Heart-centered Strategies Corp, a new tech company, created an innovative app. The app, iShared, is focused on combating global warming by becoming the world’s first sharing app.
What is iShared?
At a glance, iShared is an app that allows users to offer free goods and services to individuals in their local area. But it’s so much more than that! It provides a platform for people to not only give help but also receive help, all while saving money and reducing carbon emissions.
The truth is that people are so isolated and short on cash that it’s hard to help your neighbors or even trust each other in some cases. iShared hopes to change this by helping people share resources and ask for help when they need it.
Why is A Sharing Movement so Important?
America has roughly 39.7 million people living in poverty, and about 78 percent of the population admits to living paycheck to paycheck. The pandemic hasn’t helped this either after leaving many people out of work and facing economic hardships. In times like this, it can be hard making sure the bills are paid and there’s food on the table.
On the other hand, some have more than they need, and by sharing their resources they can help neighbors meet their basic needs as well. While it may seem like a small gesture, in the long run, it can offer additional wellness and social benefits for everyone involved.
Disrupting Global Warming
Regardless of what some people think, global warming is real. Just since the late 19th century, the planet’s average temperature has risen over two degrees. The rise in temperature is largely due to increased amounts of carbon dioxide being emitted into the atmosphere by human activity.
The team at Heart-centered Strategies Corp is what’s called a “tech4good” company, so they promote social impacts over profit. And they understand how important it is to take global warming seriously. So, while brainstorming ways to create a sharing movement, they realized an app could be created that helped with that and to save the planet.
iShared will disrupt global warming because the people will get the required resources from their local area. By promoting the sharing of goods and services, it can help reduce carbon emissions, save people money, and strengthen community-neighbor relationships by creating a large network of free goods and services.
A Brief History
The company was founded by Dr. Julia Harrison in Sacramento in May 2020. She created the vision as part of her doctoral work in Social Innovation at USC. The organization operates off four basic principles referred to as their “4C’s,” which are: Collaboration, community, connection, and collective wellbeing.
The iShared app was released in the Google Play Store late last year and is expected to reach the Apple Store by summer 2021. They also have a patent pending for the algorithm used by the app which promises users an excellent experience.
The bottom line is if you are someone who loves the planet and is compassionate about helping others, then this is an app that you don’t want to miss! It’s the perfect way to ensure that your act of kindness is given to someone who really needs it within your community. And the best part is that with each “task” with which you assist, you’ll also be helping save the Earth!
